Safer gambling, as SilverSands describes it
You must be 18 or older to register. The lobby repeats that limit, and the card page repeats it. If gambling has stopped being entertainment, stop and use the help below before you open the cashier.
Help outside the casino
The National Responsible Gambling Programme publishes free, confidential support for people in South Africa at responsiblegambling.org.za. On its own responsible-gambling page the operator names counsellor@responsiblegambling.co.za and points readers there if they answer yes to seven or more of its self-check questions.
Tools on the account
The operator says it keeps to eCOGRA’s responsible-gaming requirements. That is their statement. The tools they tell players to request from support are:
- A cooling-off period of at least seven days. The account is locked for that time, and they say promotional mail stops as well.
- Self-exclusion of at least six months, on the same terms. Permanent exclusion is also mentioned as something you can request.
- A deposit cap for 24 hours, for seven days, or for a calendar month. You choose the amount and the period when you write to support.
Ask in a way that names the tool and the amount. The page says the request goes by the support channels, which are the mailbox and the line printed on the operator’s support page. This website cannot apply a limit to a casino account.
Their self-check
The operator publishes a twenty-question list covering work, borrowing, chasing losses, time, secrecy, household money and distress. The instruction under it is plain: seven or more yes answers is a reason to contact the help service above. You do not need to send the answers to this guide.
Keeping the lobby away from children
The same page lists filtering tools for households: CyberPatrol, GamBlock, SafeKids, SurfControl and Net Nanny. Those are the operator’s examples, not products reviewed here. The age rule is still 18 even if a filter is not installed.
What this guide will not do
We will not help anyone bypass a limit, a cooling-off period or an exclusion. We will not suggest stake sizes. Offers on the offers page are descriptions of published rules, including rules that make a cash-out harder, not invitations to chase a loss.
Short answers
Who can set a deposit limit on the casino account?
SilverSands support, not this website. The operator page says you request a cap for 24 hours, seven days or a calendar month, and you choose the amount. This guide cannot apply that limit.
How long is a cooling-off period?
At least seven days, requested from casino support. Self-exclusion is at least six months. Permanent exclusion can also be requested. The page says promotional mail stops for those periods.
Where is help outside the casino?
The National Responsible Gambling Programme publishes free support at responsiblegambling.org.za. The operator’s own page names counsellor@responsiblegambling.co.za and points readers there if they answer yes to seven or more of its self-check questions.
